Established in 2006 by the Carducci Quartet, the Carducci Classics label was set up to showcase recordings of the Carducci Quartet's core repertoire, alongside world premiere recordings of neglected works of the 20th and 21st Centuries.

The label was launched with a recording of three great Haydn String Quartets (op.20 no.4, op.50 no.6 'Frog' and op.76 no.2 'Fifths').


August 2007 saw the launch of a world premiere recording of the Quartets by Graham Whettam, which received wide critical acclaim.

Following quickly on its heels, the Carducci Quartet released another world premiere recording in January 2008. 'Fantasia and Quartets' by Joseph Horovitz was also immediately featured on BBC Radio 3.

2008 will also see the launch of a new CD of the complete quartets of Irish composer, Brian Boydell. This CD is funded by the Irish Arts Council and Music Network.
